About
I'm Diego Baldi. I work as CTO at Alpian Technologies, where I lead the team designing and building cloud-native architectures for banks. Before that I spent years shipping production systems as solution architect and full-stack engineer, mostly in fintech.
This site is a working notebook on building AI systems that survive production — not demos, not prototypes, but the kind that have to pass audit, hold up under latency, and keep working when the model changes underneath them. Written for the engineers and CTOs who have to ship the boring, hard, expensive parts.
What I write about
- AI engineering — context engineering, retrieval, tool calling, orchestration, evaluation.
- Agent reliability — observability, regression detection, trajectory analysis, making autonomous systems trustworthy in messy environments.
- AI governance — the missing layer in most enterprise AI stacks, especially in regulated industries.
- AI in finance — practical applications and what actually ships in regulated banking environments.
What I don't write about
- Anything specific to Alpian. This site covers personal projects and general industry topics only.
- Beginner-friendly AI explainers. I write for peers — senior engineers, CTOs, PMs.
- Hype takes and "10x AI hacks". Not the right audience.
The flagship project
I'm building an AI Control Plane for Enterprise Agents — think Datadog + GitHub Actions + IAM, but for autonomous agents. Registry, permissions, observability, evaluation, governance, audit logs, rollback. Open-source, in public, one commit at a time.
